Straws and stirrers when in plastic were seen as a bland commodity, adding little

value to the serve and even less to the environment, but with other materials

there is the opportunity to differentiate and add value to the serve through the

patterns, colour and variations that can be achieved.

This certif ication specif ically focuses on compostability making sure Utopia’s non metallic

paper straws adhere to strict standards concerning biodegrading so they only have a positive

impact on the environment. In other words they actually give something back to the

earth when their useful life is over.
